The Academy has worked cooperatively with departments such as the N.C. Supreme Court Dispute Resolution Commission to ensure that only suitably certified and qualified attorneys are included in our member roster.

Governing Body

North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission (DRC)

The North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission was established in October of 1995, pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. � 7A-38.2. The Commission is charged primarily with certifying mediators who serve North Carolina's superior court Mediated Settlement Conference, district court Family Financial Settlement, and new Clerk Mediation Programs.

The Commission is also charged with regulating mediator conduct and recommends policy, rules, and rule revisions relating to dispute resolution in North Carolina's courts. For more information, please visit the DRC website here.
