Biographical
Andy Little is trained and certified as Civil Trial Court and Family Mediator. With a flourishing fulltime practice and over 20 years experience in mediation, Andy has mediated almost 6000 cases in state and federal courts. Prior to setting up his mediation practice, Andy had 17 years experience as a trial lawyer in a wide variety of matters, including commercial, personal injury, domestic & criminal cases. Andy's practice is now devoted exclusively to conducting mediated settlement conferences, teaching others mediation skills and techniques, and arbitration.
In addition to his mediation practice, Andy is an active leader in North Carolina’s Dispute Resolution Commission which is the agency that certifies court mediators and enforces the Supreme Court’s Standards of Conduct for Mediatos.and [insert all other commissions/committees]. He is the author of an ABA publication entitled Making Money Talk: How to Mediate Insured Claims and Other Monetary Disputes, which has been well received by civil court mediators. His reputation as an author and leader in the mediation community has led numerous bar associations around the country to invite him to speak to their memberships about mediation and negotiation.

NC Dispute Resolution Commission
- Served twice as Chair by appointment of the Chief Justice of the NC Supreme Court and served six terms as a member. The Commission certifies mediators for the District and Superior Court mediation programs and regulates mediator conduct under Standards promulgated by the Supreme Court. It also recommends rule changes for those court programs. Continues to serve as an ex-officio member
Dispute Resolution Committee & Section, North Carolina Bar Association

Chaired NCBA committee which developed the pilot and state-wide program of Mediated Settlement Conferences in Superior Court (1989-91, 1995-Present). Sought and obtained legislative and judicial enactment of authorizing statutes and rules to implement program (1995).

Authored legislation and chaired the committee which created a pilot program of mediated settlement conferences in equitable distribution cases (1997-2001) and was implemented statewide in 2001.

Selected as the first chair of the newly created Dispute Resolution Section of the NCBA in 1994. Continues to serve the Dispute Resolution Section by chairing the Section’s legislative efforts.
