Biographical Notes:

Roy Baroff began his work in the dispute resolution field in 1981 with the Orange County Dispute Settlement Center. He was trained as a mediator in 1982 and received his North Carolina Superior Court Mediator Certification in 1992. He has mediated over a thousand cases in a variety of settings over the last 25 years.

His primary focus today is mediating litigated cases in both Federal and State Court, at the Clerk of Court and for claims at the North Carolina Industrial Commission. He also serves as mediator for The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence which is a quality improvement program for Medicare.

Roy serves as an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association Commercial Panel, for the Financial Regulatory Authority and for uninsured/underinsured claims. He also serves as a trainer for many organizations providing mediation and leadership training in a range of settings.

Roy also provides external ombuds services to organizations seeking to enhance the resolution of workplace conflict and increase productivity and retention of employees.

Education:

Roy holds a BA degree in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, an MA in Anthropology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, and his JD degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Rates:

• Administrative fee: $195.00 (one time charge)
• Mediation fee: $195.00/hr
• Travel fee: No charge for travel within 2 hours (one way) of Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill. Charge of $75.00/hr thereafter.

Cancellation Policy: If the mediation is postponed or canceled beyond 7 days from the scheduled date, then a fee of $150.00 in addition to the above administrative fee is due.

If the mediation is postponed or canceled within 7 days, then a fee of $300.00 in addition to the above administrative fee is due.
The postponement/cancellation fee may be waived due to the circumstances of the matter.
