Biographical Notes:
Kacie Wallace is a conflict resolution specialist with over fifteen years of experience as a crisis intervention counselor, arbitrator, negotiator, and mediator. She is the Principal of Interplay Resolutions, which specializes in conflict resolution education, mediation of legal disputes, and prevention, management and resolution of intra-organizational and interpersonal disputes.
Kacie currently teaches conflict resolution courses at North Carolina Central University School of Law and Duke University, as well as workshops at the North Carolina Medical Society Leadership College, the U.S. Olympic Committee, and for private organizations and groups. Her teaching specialties include mediation, representation in mediation, communication, and negotiation in personal, professional, and legal contexts. Kacie also has designed an interdisciplinary curriculum examining global conflict and resolution, combining theoretical and practical pedagogies with the use of documentary film. The course allows human story and experience to enhance students’ understanding of the nature and consequences
of conflict and how individuals and groups respond.
Licensed by the North Carolina State Bar and certified by North Carolina Dispute Resolution
Commission and Industrial Commission, Kacie’s
mediation practice focuses on litigated claims
involving personal injury, worker’s compensation,
contracts, and property damage, as well as pre-litigation claims of harassment, insubordination, issues among boards of directors, and intra-organizational disputes. She
designed and implements a mediation program for the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC), mediating disputes involving athletes’ rights to participate in Olympic events and the governance of amateur sports in the U.S.
