The Academy has worked cooperatively with departments
such as the North Carolina Supreme Court Dispute Resolution
Commission to ensure that only suitably certified and
qualified individuals are included in our member
roster.
Governing Organization for North Carolina
The North Carolina Dispute
Resolution Commission was established in October of 1995, pursuant to
N.C. Gen. Stat. § 7A-38.2. The Commission is charged primarily
with certifying mediators who serve North Carolina's superior court
Mediated Settlement Conference, district court Family Financial
Settlement, and new Clerk Mediation Programs. The Commission is also
charged with regulating mediator conduct and recommends policy, rules,
and rule revisions relating to dispute resolution in North Carolina's

MEDIATION, INC. was founded in
1991 by the first certified mediators in the State of North Carolina
and was the first firm in North Carolina formed specifically to offer
mediation training and mediation services to the business and legal
communities. Andy
Little, president of the firm, led the efforts of the North
Carolina Bar Association to introduce mediation into the jurisprudence
of North Carolina. He has just completed several terms as member of
the NC Dispute Resolution Commission and served the last three as
Chair by appointment of the Chief Justice of the NC Supreme Court. For

Affiliated USA Associations
The National
Academy of Distinguished Neutrals is an association whose
membership consists of mediators and arbitrators distinguished by
their hands-on experience in the field of civil and commercial
conflict resolution, and by their commitment to the practice of
alternative dispute resolution.
Membership is by invitation only and all Academy members have
been thoroughly reviewed and found to meet stringent practice
criteria. Members are amongst the most in-demand neutrals in
their respective states, as selected by both peers and local
litigation firms. With over 600 charter members throughout the
United States, the NADN is America's largest professional

Our Florida Panel at
www.FloridaMediators.org was
established in 2005, and took many hundreds of attorney and firm surveys,
peer-nomination screening & vetting to compile. Florida has been a pioneer
in the use of ADR, and likely has more fulltime practitioners than any
other state. As such, the Florida Supreme Court's Dispute Resolution
Center has a clear certification process, awarding attorneys with a
"Circuit-Civil" certification to allow them to mediate civil litigated
cases.
Of the 2000 or so state certified attorneys, less than 10% are
included in our FL Panel of the state's most distinguished neutrals.
The Georgia Academy is
an association recognizing the state's foremost civil and
commercial mediators and arbitrators. Membership is limited to
attorneys who have substantial experience in the resolution of
commercial & civil disputes, and who have been recognized for
their accomplishments through the Academy's peer-nomination
process and attorney client review procedure.
The Tennessee Academy is
an association recognizing the state's foremost civil and
commercial mediators and arbitrators. Membership is limited to
attorneys who have substantial experience in the resolution of
commercial & civil disputes, and who have been recognized for
their accomplishments through the Academy's peer-nomination
process and attorney client review procedure.
The California Academy of
Distinguished Neutrals is a statewide organization whose membership
consists of mediators and arbitrators distinguished by their hands-on
experience in the field of civil dispute resolution. Membership is limited
to California neutrals who have substantial experience in the resolution
of commercial & civil disputes, and who have been recognized for their
accomplishments through the Academy's peer-nomination process.
