Biographical Notes:
 Mr. Phillips practices primarily in the areas of civil and commercial litigation and counseling, and in dispute resolution. He has practiced law since 1979, and has been a certified mediator since 1992. From 1995 to 2002 he was a mediator and private judge with the Duke University Private Adjudication Center, and he is currently adjunct faculty at the University of North Carolina School of Law. He is also currently a member of the N.C. Environmental Management Commission. Mr. Phillips graduated from Davidson College and from the University of North Carolina School of Law (J.D. 1979 with honors), where he served as Editor in Chief of the North Carolina Law Review. He also holds a Diploma in Law from Oxford University (Brasenose College). Dickson was named a "Super Lawyer" in the area of Business Litigation in the 2006 edition of North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine, and has received the "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
