Biographical Notes:
 Resident Superior Court Judge, Judicial District 14B, Durham County. Elected November 1994 to an 8-year term, Judge LaBarre presided over capital murder cases, major felonies including drug trafficking, rape, robbery and arson; in civil court, cases included medical malpractice, major contract, wrongful death and serious personal injury cases.
Since his retirement in 2002 as an active Superior Court Judge in N. C., Judge LaBarre has been commissioned by the Governor of N.C. as an Emergency Judge for the N.C. Courts and is subject to assignment in the 100 counties of N.C. Approximately two-thirds of his time is spent in the courts of N.C. as an emergency judge, and one-third of his time as a mediator/arbitrator.
Judge LaBarre remains an active member of the North Carolina Association of District Court Judges and the North Carolina Conference of Superior Court Judges. Judge LaBarre has served as a mediator/arbitrator in excess of 200 cases since 2001 in all areas and subject matter in the N.C. District and Superior Courts.

Mediation- $150 adm fee + $150/ hour
Arbitration-$150 adm fee + $200/hour
Travel >50 miles- $75/ hour
Motel + meals overnight
